Built by collectors, for collectors
Mythstone Comics grew from the excitement we first found in comic shops, mystery packs, conventions and the shared experience of discovering something new. From hunting down back issues and completing runs to appreciating the artwork that makes every book unique, that same sense of discovery, nostalgia and community still sits at the heart of everything we do.
Where it all began
Our love of comics started long before Mythstone Comics — in childhood comic shops, convention halls, market stalls, and those irresistible mystery packs where you never quite knew what you were going to pull out next. There was a real thrill in peeling back the wrapping, discovering an unfamiliar issue, and getting lost in the colours, characters and artwork before you had even read a single page.
Just as important was the sense of community around it all. Comic shops were places to browse, talk, recommend, debate, discover new creators and share the excitement of a great find with someone who understood exactly why it mattered. Conventions and events brought that same feeling on a bigger scale — collectors, readers and fans brought together by a shared enthusiasm for the stories and artwork they loved.
That sense of discovery and connection never really left us. Over the years it became collecting, hunting down missing issues, completing runs, finding overlooked stories, and appreciating the incredible work that goes into the covers and interiors themselves. For us, comics have always been about more than just owning the books; they are about the artwork, the stories, the hunt, and the people you meet along the way.
Mythstone Comics grew from that passion. We understand the excitement of finding the issue you have been searching for, stumbling across something completely unexpected, or picking up a graphic novel that reminds you why you fell in love with comics in the first place. We also want to recreate some of that welcoming comic-shop feeling online — a place built by collectors, for collectors and readers who simply love the medium.
For now, we're selling through eBay while we build our full retail site. Every listing is prepared with a collector's eye, with clear descriptions, careful condition notes, and a genuine appreciation for the books we sell. Our aim is simple: to help people discover great comics, build collections they are proud of, and keep that sense of excitement and community alive.
